Serving with Purpose

Volunteer Service Opportunities at LaGrange Baptist

Are you willing to be used by God to meet the needs of others? There are many ministries in our church that could benefit from your talents. You will benefit as well since you’ll be using talents God has specifically given you to serve others and fulfill His plan. If you wish to serve, contact the church office at 222-9306 and you will be put in touch with the correct ministry director. New Search Feature Added to Menus

We have added a new search feature to our menu system. This allows you to search for specific things across our website and blog. You can even choose to search across the entire internet. Whatever you search for will open in a new window (or tab if you use tabbed browsing).

We have standardized on using Google for this search feature. There may be a few days delay between when something is posted on our site or blog and when Google's search technology finds it. So if you are searching for something and can not find it, please try again in a few days to give these massive search engines time to refresh themselves.

Power-Plant Recap

Students from our church joined more than 150 students and their leaders June 23-29 for a PowerPlant national project in Pittsburgh, PA.

During the week, we spent our time surveying two neighborhoods, Point Breeze and Homewood, that surrounds Zoe Community Church. We learned what being "On Mission" really means throughout the week: Becoming personally involved in meeting the needs of others while sharing the love of Christ. Each morning we had training sessions on church planting and evangelism and closed the evening with the Gathering (a time of singing, praying, teaching and hearing testimonies of God's activity during the day). On Tuesday night, we saw some of the sites in Pittsburgh, the highlights were eating at Joe Mama's and riding the Incline.

Thank you for your prayers! It was a challenging week for our students. Going door to door in an area that has the highest crime rate in Pittsburgh can be a little alarming! I was very proud of our students' work - they were awesome! Many of them requested that we organize some survey work in our community so that we can better know the needs of our area, and how the church can better meet those needs - hopefully we will be doing this on Wednesdays after youth during the summer.

I will be posting more pics later this week on the student web page - so come back!
