First Monday Fast

What is firstMonday fast?

At Vertical Reality ’06 LaGrange Baptist Student Ministry spent the weekend learning about fasting and out of this weekend birthed the idea of us uniting together to fast and pray on the First Monday of the month.  Our goal is simple, we want to ‘taste and see that the Lord is good’ (Psalm 34:8) and God has given us means in order for us to experience this reality.  One of those means is through fasting and praying – we want to meet with God and we want our lives to be ordered by His agenda.  We recognize and confess that we can be full of a bunch of junk and have little appetites for God.  We want our hearts to be hungry for Him and one way this happens is through fasting.
