Women’s Spring Session 2012 Bible Study

Spring Session of Women’s Bible Study
February 28th – May 15th, 2012
Tuesday Mornings 9:30 – 11:30 AM
Childcare by Reservations Only

We are offering two studies this session.

The first is an in depth study of God’s Covenant Promises. In this study we will take an look at God’s covenant with Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and David. Through studying God’s progressive revelation in these covenant promises, we will see how they relate to the New covenant, the kingdom of God and the promises we can claim as ours as heirs in that kingdom through faith in Christ Jesus.

The second study is Beth Moore’s new study, James: Mercy Triumphs. James, Jesus’ own brother, started out as a skeptic. See how one glimpse of the resurrected Savior turned an unbeliever into a disciple. Bible scholars compare James to the prophet Amos. In other ways, James more closely resembles the Book of Proverbs than any other New Testament book. Topics in this study include: joy, hardship, faith, reversal of fortunes for rich and poor, wisdom, gifts from above, single-mindedness, the dangers of the tongue, humility, and prayer. Cost of this study is $15.

STORYLINE OF THE BIBLE: GENESIS TO REVELATION
The Bible is God’s Word. It is also a wonderful book put together by God for God’s people. It has 66 smaller books written by 40 different authors over approximately 1500 years but it has one central storyline that unifies the whole book. This course will help you understand the big picture of Scripture, it’s main events and characters, and God’s plan of redemption as it unfolds. It will also equip you with basic Bible study tools so that you can study it on your own, study it with a friend, or teach it to your children and grandchildren. Come join us as we unpack some Bible basics.

Here and Now…There and Then
This is a lecture series by Beth Moore on the book of Revelation. Beth presents many points of view, allowing women to decide for themselves when the interpretation varies among scholars. She teaches that God is as specific about what He does reveal as He is about what He does not reveal. Each of the 11 sessions is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes and will have light homework.

Celebration Sunday

It’s Time to celebrate!  Next Sunday, August 30th, is the day we have set aside to come together and thank God for all He has done, and is doing.  We’ll begin with everyone (children included) in the sanctuary at 9:30 AM.  At around 10:00, we’ll split into age group sections for some focused time to look at our LIFE Classes for the coming year.  Morning worship will follow at 10:45 where we anticipate a challenging message about being involved in God’s mission and living out what we believe.

During our evening worship, we will watch video clips of our “summer of service” and hear a few stories of those who were involved.

We look forward to celebrating with you!
