Our Vision

Growing the Next Generation for God’s Glory

Here at LaGrange Baptist Church we have a vision for your child.  Our vision is that your child would one day step into adulthood with a deep-rooted and unshakable faith in Jesus.  We want your child to have a faith that weathers the storms of life and bears fruit for the glory of God.  And we want your child to delight in God’s Word and be established in his or her faith like a firmly rooted tree by streams of water (Psalm 1:3).

This vision of growing your child from a tiny little seed to a mighty oak tree of righteousness can only happen by the grace of God.  And yet God has given us the privilege of partnering with parents in planting seeds of biblical truth so that our children would in all things grow up into Christ, who is our head (Eph. 4:15).  This is our prayer for your child.  And this is our prayer for our ministry to children—that we would be about Growing the Next Generation for God’s Glory.

Growing …

• Growing is the process of preparing the soil of children’s hearts, planting the seeds of biblical truth in their minds, and nurturing the saplings of faith in their lives by the grace of God.

We recognize the truth of I Corinthians 3:7 which says, “So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.”

the Next Generation …

• The legacy of faith we leave behind will in large part be measured by how well we invest in the next generation.  Thus we will strive to not hide God’s Word from our children but “tell to the next generationthe glorious deeds of the LORD, and his might, and the wonders that he has done…so that they should set their hope in God” (Psalm 78:4,7).

for God’s Glory …

• The ultimate purpose for our ministry to children and families is that God be glorified in all things.  Therefore, we want to intentionally build a God-centered focus that permeates everything we do as teachers, helpers and volunteers.

We want to live out I Peter 4:11 which says, “whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ.”
