Relationship with the World

The mission of God throughout all of history and throughout the entire world is to make His name known through the gospel of Jesus Christ. The call to be a disciple of Jesus Christ is a call to join in this mission. The first thing Jesus said to his disciples was the command, “Follow me and I will make you become fishers of men.” Part of faithfully following Jesus is making Him known to others. Not only is this the mission of individual Christians, but it is also the mission of the Church as a whole. Right before He ascended to heaven, Jesus charged his disciples, “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” We move forward in obedience to this command with confidence that the mission will succeed because the gospel will save. This is what it looks like to grow in our relationships with the world around us.

Equip & Engage

Serve locally and globally
Our aim is to equip the people of LaGrange Baptist and engage them in the mission of God in this world. This takes place on two levels: local and global. Locally we seek to serve our community through individual/family counseling, work projects, backyard Bible clubs, and other opportunities throughout the year. Globally we seek to take the gospel to the nations through international mission trips, prayer, and supporting missionaries and church plants. See the links below to learn more about these opportunities.

Local

As a church, one of our top priorities is to serve the community that God has placed us in. We are constantly asking ourselves the question, “If LaGrange Baptist Church closed its doors, would the community miss us?” We want to seek the good of our city through meeting both physical and spiritual needs. Below are some of the ways we seek to carry out this vision:

LBC offers financial, crisis, marriage, and other types of counseling to people in our community.

It is our desire to step into people’s lives with the love of God and the truth of the gospel in order to meet their needs and point them towards Jesus.

The Hope Health Clinic is a community wide ministry seeking to provide quality healthcare in a Christ-honoring environment to those who lack alternative healthcare solutions.

For more information, visit hopehealthclinicky.com.

LaGrange Missions is a week-long summer event in which our church will be reaching and serving our community through backyard Bible clubs and worksites. This is a crucial week each summer in cultivating a missional mindset in our students and connecting them with adults in our church in order to promote the gospel in Oldham County.

LaGrange Missions will take place Summer 2018.

Global

The mission that God calls His people into is not one that sends them just to their neighborhood, but God also sends His people out to the nations of the world. With this in mind, here are some of the ways we seek to join God in this mission:

LBC seeks to partner with those who are seeking to reach the Turkish people with the gospel of Jesus Christ. This expresses itself through praying, going, giving, and sending. See the links below for more details:

As a church, we support missionaries who are serving everywhere from college campuses to other countries. This happens primarily through our giving to the Southern Baptist Convention’s Cooperative Program. For more information, see the links below.
