Understanding Other Beliefs

Kentucky Baptists interested in learning how to better relate to people from other religious backgrounds are encouraged to attend the Understanding Other Beliefs Conference on March 15, 2011 at LaGrange Baptist Church, 1139 Commerce Parkway, LaGrange, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m..

Participants can select from three topics: “New Age Spirituality” led by Don Metcalf, “Latter-Day Saints” led by Bill Ellis, and ” What on Earth is the Next Generation Thinking?” led by Dave Meredith. Facilitators are certified in their areas of teaching by the Southern Baptist North American Mission Board.

“It is very important for Christians to know what other people believe and how that differs from biblical Christianity,” said Ross Bauscher, leader of the Kentucky Baptist Convention Evangelism Growth Team. Referencing 1 Peter 3:15, Bauscher added that it is equally important for believers to share their faith with an attitude of “gentleness and reverence.”

This free event is sponsored by the Kentucky Baptist Convention Evangelism Growth Team and is made possible through gifts to the Cooperative Program. Advanced registration is not required.
