Ladies Bible Studies: Thursdays, September 5th – October 17th

Please stop by the kiosk for more information or to sign up for one of the following studies:

Me, Myself, and Lies: A Thought Closet Makeover –  by Jennifer Rothschild.

Words are powerful. Especially the words women speak to themselves. All too often, what they say to themselves when they lie in bed at night or look in the mirror in the morning is not even close to the words God wants them to speak to their souls. According to Rothschild, what we think about often has a ripple effect on nearly every area of our lives.

In this study women are encouraged to clean out the junk in their minds and replace hidden negative thoughts with positive truths from God’s word.

Thursday mornings, 9:30 AM, $15. Childcare is available by reservation.

Gideon: Your weakness. God’s strength – by Priscilla Shirer.

Gideon’s story is about us … our lives, our doubts, our struggles, and our possibilities as believers. From a state of fear, weakness, and insecurity, Gideon emerged as Israel’s hero, filled with God’s presence and His passion for deliverance. This study will encourage you to recognize your weakness as the key that the Lord gives you to unlock the full experience of His strength in your life. In what ways do you feel insufficient? Those places create the greatest opportunity to experience the sufficiency of God. Instead of ignoring, neglecting, or trying to escape your weaknesses, see them as the gifts that they are, given specifically and strategically by God to unlock the door of His strength.

Thursday morning, 9:30 AND Thursday evening 7PM, $15
Childcare is available by reservation for morning session only.

Made to Crave: Satisfying Your Deepest Desire with God, Not Food, by Lysa TerKeurst.

Made to Crave is the missing link between a woman’s desire to be healthy and the spiritual empowerment necessary to make that happen. The reality is we were made to crave. Craving isn’t a bad thing. But we must realize God created us to crave more of Him. This is not a how-to book. This is not the latest and greatest dieting plan. This book is the necessary companion for you to use alongside whatever healthy lifestyle plan you choose.

Women’s Spring 2011 Bible Study

Two studies will be offered on Thursday mornings, March 3rd – May 19th at 9:30 AM: Storyline of the Bible: Genesis to Revelation and Beth Moore’s study of Revelation, Here and Now … There and Then. Childcare is available by reservation only.
Cost of Bible study is $15.

Sunday, February 13th, is the first day to sign up.

STORYLINE OF THE BIBLE: GENESIS TO REVELATION
The Bible is God’s Word. It is also a wonderful book put together by God for God’s people. It has 66 smaller books written by 40 different authors over approximately 1500 years but it has one central storyline that unifies the whole book. This course will help you understand the big picture of Scripture, it’s main events and characters, and God’s plan of redemption as it unfolds. It will also equip you with basic Bible study tools so that you can study it on your own, study it with a friend, or teach it to your children and grandchildren. Come join us as we unpack some Bible basics.

Here and Now…There and Then
This is a lecture series by Beth Moore on the book of Revelation. Beth presents many points of view, allowing women to decide for themselves when the interpretation varies among scholars. She teaches that God is as specific about what He does reveal as He is about what He does not reveal. Each of the 11 sessions is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes and will have light homework.
